I'm always trying to explain to Troy my need to have a home that is modern yet warm. Troy is passionate about the classic mid-century modern designs and if he had it his way, we'd be living in a home made of steel, concrete, plastic and Eames. This beautiful style of flat woven rug, originating from a large expanse of Eurasia (the Balkans to Pakistan according to Wikipedia), boasts bright colors, striking contrasts, geometric designs and an antique feel sure to warm up the coldest of interiors. They're also often way less expensive and a little more casual than Persian rugs, which I love. It's funny how something so old can look so modern.
